The sands of the dunes are in a
constant state of flux.
The trees that grow in the dunes have adapted by developing thick woody roots.
They are impassive to the shifting
pavane of wind, rain and time.
The roots have become exposed imbuing a
subtle realization of motion.
The trees appear to be about to lift
themselves free and amble forth.
This series has manages to create a moment when the Dryads awake.
In Greek
mythology, the Dryads are female spirits of nature, who preside over groves and
forests.
Each one is
born with a certain tree over which she watches.
The lives of
the Dryads are connected with that of the trees; should the tree perish, then
she dies with it.
If a mortal
causes this, the gods will punish him for that deed.
The Dryads
themselves will also punish any thoughtless mortal who would somehow injure the
trees.
